VOTE wine and meatloaf

There is so much happening in today’s world. 2020 came in like a wrecking ball (sorry 2020 cartoonfor the Miley Cyrus reference) and hasn’t stopped its destruction.  We started the year off with the corona virus that is sadly, still going strong. Our society has stepped up over inequality and massive protests have arisen. There has been an unprecedented number of fires on the west coast destroying an ungodly amount of acreage, and of course, let’s not forget the Murder Hornets that have now officially been found in Washington. (check out this cool video of how they destroyed the nest with a vacuum)

We make small decisions thousands of times a day. In fact, according to science.unctv.org, it’s estimated that the average adult makes about 35,000 remotely conscious decisions each day. In the first few minutes of being awake you make  decisions to hit or not hit that snooze button, what you are going to wear, whether or not you are going to eat breakfast, what you are going to eat, what to put in your coffee… you get the picture.

We’ve stacked the odds so that you can get our award winning wines without breaking the bank. Click the image to find out all of the benefits of joining the CHALK CLUB including free shipping and progressive discounts.

Am I going to go through that yellow light on my way to work? Am I going to wear pants to my Zoom meeting? Some decisions are easily made without much effort. (please wear pants) Others, we put a little more effort into. Like what wine will we pour into our glass tonight? Or what will we pair the wine with? While each decision is important and impacts our lives, some have more ramifications than others.

They say the smallest decision could change your life forever. As Americans we are proud (or should be proud) of the fact that we get to choose our government leaders. This Tuesday, November 3rd is Election Day and no matter what your opinions are of the candidates, everyone has a right to their opinion; but your opinion doesn’t mean anything if you don’t make the decision to vote.

Rutherford Ranch in Napa understands exactly how important it is to cast your vote. “With experts predicting record-breaking voter turnout in November, VOTE. was crafted with the purpose to empower the American people to have their voices heard in the upcoming 2020 election.”

This wine may be the perfect pairing for your election night viewing party, but we decided to give it a test run with the most All American meal we could think of. Meatloaf. Continuing with the VOTE theme, we decided to have two candidates. The debate was held between the classic recipe and a Tex-Mex version.

Tex Mex vs classic meatloaf- and look at that awesome label!

2016 VOTE

? medium ruby
?? medium aromas chocolate, eucalyptus, earth, bing cherry
? dry, medium acidity, medium tannin, medium alcohol, medium body, medium flavors candied apple, leather, bing cherry, medium finish
? 14.1% ABV, Napa Valley AVA, aged in French oak, Merlot, Petite Sirah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. SRP: $30 (sample)

When all votes were cast, there was a clear winner. The classic! Although the wine was able to stand up to the slight heat from the jalapeños, the wine made the black beans taste overly starchy, changing the whole dynamic of the meal. While the classic version allowed the fruit to shine and played nicely with the secondary flavors.

You can get your own bottle of VOTE on Rutherford Ranch’s website. (use code EXPLORE15 for 15% off) Even if you aren’t able to get a bottle in time for the election, have your voice heard in 2020! Be sure to get out and cast your vote becauseA real decision is measured by the fact that you’ve taken a new action. If there’s no action, you haven’t truly decided.” – Tony Robbins
